EDIT 24 August 2025: Since my initial review earlier this year, I have been on the last leg of my Italian citizenship journey - obtaining an Italian/EU passport. This required coordination between my local consulate in San Francisco, and the Comune di Palermo where my government documents are recorded at the anagrafe. Italy's new tightened restrictions on citizenship have been reflected in additional scrutiny of my documents.
